Federal safety guidance prohibits ever transferring a pesticide into a soft-drink bottle or other food or drink container primarily because:

• Plastic beverage bottles cannot legally hold any liquid chemical
• The pesticide would evaporate too quickly in a thin bottle
• Beverage containers are too small to hold a full application's worth
• Children or others may mistake the contents for something to eat or drink
• The original label could not be reattached to a round bottle
